- An approved Bachelor’s degree at NQF Level 7 OR a 360-credit Diploma at NQF Level 6
- The qualification must include two recognised school subjects:
- 1 FET subject: At least 48 credits at NQF Level 7 (spanning 2–3 academic years)
- 1 Senior Phase subject: At least 24 credits at NQF Level 6 (spanning 1 academic year)
- Compulsory face-to-face and online lectures on SPU campus
- 10 weeks of teaching practice in a selected school in Kimberley
