The Bachelor of Health Sciences in Podiatry at UJ is a professional degree that qualifies graduates to register as podiatrists with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA). Students develop skills in the diagnosis and treatment of foot, ankle, and lower limb conditions including diabetic foot care, biomechanical assessment, nail surgery, and orthotics — areas of critical importance given South Africa's high prevalence of diabetes and related foot complications. UJ offers one of very few podiatry programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.
