The Bachelor of Environmental Science at Sol Plaatje University is a four-year NQF Level 8 degree that equips students with the interdisciplinary knowledge and technical skills to address South Africa's most pressing environmental challenges. The programme draws on ecology, environmental management, remote sensing, earth observation, and sustainability science — preparing graduates to assess ecosystem degradation, climate risk, biodiversity loss, and resource depletion. The Northern Cape's unique landscape, spanning semi-arid Karoo, the Orange River basin, and the Kalahari, provides an exceptional living laboratory for environmental field work and research.
