2027 KZN EDTEA Engineering Bursary

Overview/Details

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) is offering six bursaries to academically deserving KwaZulu-Natal students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue studies in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering for the 2027 academic year.

What makes this bursary distinctive is that it is tied to two specific institutions: the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and the University of Pretoria (UP). Applicants must be accepted at one of these two universities to qualify. It is the student’s own responsibility to seek admission with the institution before applying.

The bursary is comprehensive, covering registration and tuition fees, accommodation, prescribed books and study material, meals, and a monthly allowance. It is renewable annually based on academic performance. Only six bursaries will be awarded, making this a highly competitive opportunity. No emailed applications will be accepted, and no late applications will be considered.
