Overview/Details

KPMG Southern Africa offers two bursary options designed to support students pursuing a SAICA-accredited qualification and a future career as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)). Applications are currently open.

The Pure Merit Bursary is awarded based purely on academic results. The Merit Bursary with Financial Need is for academically strong students who also require financial assistance. KPMG reserves the right to determine which bursary type an applicant qualifies for, and the amount awarded.

Please note that a bursary contract is subject to the recipient entering into a learnership (training contract) with KPMG once they have completed their studies at a SAICA-accredited university, specifically upon obtaining a CTA or GDA qualification.

Requirements

Applicants must be studying a SAICA-recognised degree full-time and completing it in the minimum number of years (a one-year course may not be split over two years).

Merit Bursary with Financial Need: academic requirements by year

  • Matric: 4 A’s excluding Life Orientation (as per bursary policy)
  • First year: 65% average and 70% in Accounting
  • Second year: 65% in Accounting
  • Third year: 60% average and 60% in Accounting
  • Honours/CTA: 50% average and 55% in Accounting

Identity document of the student Payslips for both parents or guardians (Affidavit if parents or guardians are not employed)
Matric certificate 3 months’ bank statements for both parents or guardians (Affidavit if parents or guardians have no bank account)
Latest academic record and proof of registration Affidavit if parents or guardians are absent from your life
Updated fee statement Death certificate if parents or guardians are deceased
Utility bill (water and electricity, cellphone, etc.)
Identity document of the student
Matric certificate
Latest academic record and proof of registration
