Details

The Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering at the University of Pretoria is a four-year degree that trains graduates to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that underpins modern society — roads, bridges, dams, water systems, buildings, and environmental management works. Civil engineers apply principles of mechanics, hydraulics, geotechnics, structural theory, and materials science to deliver projects that shape South Africa's built environment. With one of South Africa's largest infrastructure investment backlogs and significant water, transport, and urban development challenges, civil engineers are in sustained high demand. UP's civil engineering programme is accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and produces graduates registered as Professional Engineers (Pr Eng) with ECSA after completing the required experience.

Admission requirements: English (Home or First Additional Language): Level 5 (60-69%); Mathematics: Level 6 (70-79%); Physical Science: Level 5 (60-69%); APS: 35 (excluding Life Orientation).
