The Bachelor of Arts at the University of the Western Cape is a broad humanities degree offering students an extensive range of majors across languages, social sciences, philosophy, psychology, and cultural studies. UWC's rich intellectual tradition — forged during the anti-apartheid struggle — provides a uniquely South African context for critical engagement with questions of justice, identity, and society. Students choose from majors including Anthropology, Psychology, Political Studies, Sociology, History, Languages, and many more, developing the analytical and communication skills prized across South Africa's public, private, and civil society sectors. Note: Mathematics Code 3 or Mathematical Literacy Code 4 is required for Geography, Tourism, Library and Information Science, Psychology, and Industrial Psychology.
