Details

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies at Walter Sisulu University is a three-year degree at the Mthatha campus that provides detailed knowledge and understanding of environmental impact assessment, environmental law, resources management, and the principles of ecology, tourism, and ecotourism. Students develop the ability to identify and solve problems in unfamiliar environmental contexts, and to understand the factors shaping demand in the tourism and natural resource sectors. South Africa's constitutionally protected environment, biodiversity hotspots, and growing green economy provide significant opportunities for graduates who can bridge science, law, and sustainability management.
