The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at MUT focuses on the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of machines and mechanical systems. The programme prepares industry-ready technicians by combining strong theoretical foundations in mathematics and engineering sciences with practical WIL experience across South Africa's manufacturing, automotive, shipbuilding, aerospace, mining, and power generation industries. Additional career paths exist in renewable energy systems, oil and gas, and maintenance engineering. Students who have completed N5 and N6 subjects at TVET Colleges with at least 50% in Mathematics and Physical Sciences may be eligible for module exemptions via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
