The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies at Walter Sisulu University is a three-year degree at the Mthatha campus that provides detailed knowledge and understanding of environmental impact assessment, environmental law, resources management, and the principles of ecology, tourism, and ecotourism. Environmental Compliance Inspector – Enforce environmental legislation and monitor compliance by mines, industries, and municipalities for the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment or provincial departments.
Ecotourism Manager or Operator – Develop and manage responsible ecotourism products in national parks, private game reserves, and eco-lodges, contributing to South Africa’s sustainable tourism economy.
