The Thuthuka Bursary Fund, established in 2005 by SAICA, supports Black African and Coloured students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing a BCom Accounting degree on the CA(SA) pathway.
Unlike standard financial aid, the Thuthuka programme takes a holistic approach — covering tuition, books, meals, residence, and accommodation, while also providing academic enrichment tutorials, study skills workshops, social and emotional support, life skills and work-readiness training, mentoring, counselling, and access to a dedicated programme manager and experienced CA mentors.
This integrated support model is designed to give Thuthuka students a measurable advantage in both academic performance and workplace readiness.
