The Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Venda equips students with the knowledge and skills to plan and manage the spatial development of towns, cities, and regions in an equitable and sustainable manner. Students study land use planning, transport planning, housing policy, GIS, environmental planning, and development economics, with a strong focus on South Africa's spatial planning legislative framework, including the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (SPLUMA). Graduates are well-positioned to address South Africa's significant spatial inequalities and the need for integrated, participatory development planning in both urban and rural contexts.
