The Diploma in Adult and Community Education and Training (Civil Technology) at TUT prepares educators to deliver civil technology training to adult and out-of-school learners in ABET and community learning contexts across South Africa. The programme addresses the adult education gap in technical skills by developing practitioners who can teach basic construction, building, and civil technology competencies in community education centres, correctional facilities, and worker education programmes. South Africa has millions of adults with incomplete schooling and low technical skills, and this qualification targets that critical need. Students develop both civil technology content knowledge and adult learning facilitation skills.
