The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Stellenbosch University is a four-year professional degree that prepares students to enable people of all ages and abilities to participate meaningfully in the occupations — work, self-care, play, and leisure — that give life purpose. Clinical placements at Tygerberg Hospital, community health centres, schools, and psychiatric facilities across the Western Cape give students broad exposure to the diverse settings where occupational therapy is practised in South Africa. After a year of community service, graduates register with the HPCSA as Occupational Therapists and enter a profession that is in demand across rehabilitation, mental health, paediatrics, and disability inclusion.
