The Diploma in the Built Environment in Construction Studies at DUT, offered at the Midlands Campus in Pietermaritzburg, trains graduates for careers in quantity surveying, construction management, and project management in South Africa's construction sector. The three-year programme develops knowledge of quantities, documentation, construction methods, materials, technology, and management — meeting minimum standards set by the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession and the Project and Construction Management Professions. Graduates are prepared to enter a sector underpinned by significant government infrastructure investment.
