The Diploma in Corrections Management at the University of South Africa (Unisa) is a three-year open distance learning qualification designed for personnel in the correctional services environment who seek formal qualifications in criminal justice, offender management, and corrections administration. Students develop competence in legal principles, administrative management, rehabilitation approaches, and correctional policy — preparing them to apply integrated management skills at a tactical level within the Department of Correctional Services. Unisa has a longstanding partnership with TVET colleges across South Africa offering face-to-face support for this qualification, improving student throughput. Admission requirements: National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Diploma endorsement and at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning, or a Senior Certificate (SC) with at least a D symbol on HG in the language of teaching and learning, or a Higher Certificate in Criminal Justice or Law (NQF Level 5).
