The programme covers Old and New Testament studies, systematic theology, church history, pastoral theology, and ethics — developing the theological literacy and critical thinking needed for leadership in religious communities and institutions. UP's Faculty of Theology and Religion is deeply engaged in South African theological discourse, with particular attention to African theology, social ethics, and the church's role in public life. The BTh is suitable for both those seeking ordained ministry and those pursuing theology for broader professional or academic purposes.
