The Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi South32 Bursary Scheme is offering a limited number of tertiary bursaries for the 2027 academic year to deserving applicants who reside in the King Cetshwayo District of KwaZulu-Natal. The scheme is offered through South32’s Hillside Aluminium operation, which is celebrating 30 years of operation, and reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to investing in the communities surrounding its operations.
The bursary is open to current Grade 12 learners and students who have already passed Grade 12 and are under the age of 21, and who want to study full time towards an undergraduate degree or diploma. Applications are assessed on academic excellence among other criteria, and preference is given to designated groups. Acceptance into the scheme is dependent on a successful interview.
The bursary is renewable on an annual basis and is dependent on the bursar’s academic performance and conduct throughout their studies.
