Overview/Details

Eskom invites ambitious South African matriculant students who are passionate about the energy sector to apply for its Non-Technical Degree Bursary Programme for the 2027 academic year. This bursary supports students pursuing non-technical undergraduate degrees while developing the critical skills needed to contribute to South Africa’s energy future.

This opportunity is strictly available to current Grade 12 learners or students who matriculated in 2025 and will be starting their first year of tertiary studies in 2027. Please note that applications for Diploma qualifications will not be considered — only Bachelor’s degree programmes qualify.

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be a current Grade 12 learner or must have matriculated in 2025, starting first-year studies in 2027
  • Must have Grade 11 final results or a Grade 12 certificate
  • Must have conditional acceptance to study a Bachelor’s degree in one of the approved disciplines at a recognised public South African university (if available)
  • Must not be holding any other bursary
  • Diploma qualifications will not be considered
  • Applicants may be subjected to a psychometric assessment
