Details

The Bachelor of Arts in Correctional Studies at the University of Zululand is one of very few programmes in South Africa dedicated to the theory and practice of corrections, penology, and criminal justice. The programme examines correctional philosophy, rehabilitation, restorative justice, prison management, and social reintegration — critically relevant in a country with one of the highest incarceration rates on the continent and significant challenges around recidivism and post-release support. Graduates are well-positioned for careers in the Department of Correctional Services, the criminal justice system, and rehabilitation-focused NGOs.
