The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship is aimed at Grade 12 learners who show entrepreneurial potential and strong academic performance. It provides full or needs-based funding for university studies at select South African institutions. The programme includes tuition fees, accommodation, meals, and mentorship to nurture entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • South African citizenship.
  • Must be a current Grade 12 learner.
  • Not older than 21 years in the current year.
  • Entrepreneurial flair and passion are essential.
  • Strong belief in the future of South Africa.
  • Must intend to study towards a degree in Commerce, Science (excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry), Engineering, Law, Humanities, or Arts at one of the following universities:
    • University of the Witwatersrand (WITS)
    • University of Johannesburg (UJ)
    • University of Cape Town (UCT)
    • Nelson Mandela University (NMU)
    • Rhodes University
    • University of the Western Cape (UWC)
    • Stellenbosch University (SU)
    • University of Pretoria (UP)
    • University of the Free State (UFS)
    • University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
    • TSIBA Business School

Academic Requirements:

  • Pure Mathematics: 60% or higher in Grade 11 OR
  • Mathematical Literacy: 80% or higher in Grade 11.
  • Minimum Grade 11 Average: 70% or higher (excluding Life Orientation).
