The Diploma in Law at TUT provides an introduction to legal principles, procedures, and practice relevant to the South African legal system — preparing graduates for paralegal and legal support roles in law firms, justice centres, the Master of the Supreme Court, the Deeds Office, and private companies. The programme covers constitutional law, criminal law, civil procedure, contract law, and consumer protection, giving students a working knowledge of South Africa's legal framework. With the legal profession requiring extensive support staff, paralegal practitioners play an important access-to-justice role, particularly in communities underserved by private legal services. The programme is offered at Soshanguve South and Mbombela campuses.
