The Diploma in Correctional and Rehabilitation Studies at TUT prepares professionals for the South African correctional services environment, covering offender rehabilitation, correctional administration, security management, and the social reintegration of offenders. South Africa's correctional system faces significant challenges around overcrowding, recidivism, and rehabilitation effectiveness, and qualified correctional studies graduates contribute to improving outcomes for offenders and communities. Students study criminology, law, corrections management, and rehabilitation theory alongside practical application in correctional facilities. The programme is taught at the Soshanguve South campus and is closely linked to the Department of Correctional Services.
