The Bachelor of the Built Environment in Geomatics at DUT trains competent, responsible surveyors who can register as professional surveyors with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC). The three-year programme develops expertise in land surveying, engineering surveying, hydrography, GIS, and computer-aided drawing — skills in growing demand as South Africa invests in land reform, infrastructure development, and smart city initiatives. Graduates find opportunities in land surveying firms, engineering consultancies, mining companies, and government departments.
