The Bachelor of Sports Science at the University of Pretoria is a three-year degree in the Faculty of Health Sciences that trains students in the scientific principles underlying human movement, exercise physiology, sports psychology, sports nutrition, biomechanics, and sports management. Students develop the knowledge and skills to optimise athletic performance, prevent injuries, promote physical activity, and manage sport organisations — reflecting South Africa's growing sport science sector and the country's national investment in high-performance sport through the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC). UP's sport science programme has strong links with the High Performance Centre, Tuks Athletics Club, and the Springboks training environment, providing students with exceptional practical exposure to elite sport.
