Registered Counsellor (HPCSA) – Provides basic counselling and psychosocial support services in schools, community health centres, and NGOs after completing postgraduate registration requirements through the HPCSA.
Clinical Psychologist – Assesses, diagnoses, and treats mental health conditions in hospital, community mental health, and private practice settings after completing a master’s degree and internship — a path that begins with this degree.
Educational Psychologist – Supports learner development, assesses learning difficulties, and facilitates school-based psychological interventions in collaboration with the DBE and school-based support teams.
Industrial/Organisational Psychologist – Applies psychological principles to talent selection, leadership assessment, and employee wellness in corporate organisations and government departments registered with the HPCSA.
Research Psychologist – Conducts psychological research on mental health, behaviour, and social issues for universities, the South African Medical Research Council, and health policy organisations.
