The Bachelor of Commerce (General) at the University of Mpumalanga is a three-year degree that equips students with a comprehensive business education across accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing. Students develop the quantitative reasoning, business analysis, and strategic thinking skills needed to operate effectively in South Africa's commercial environment, with particular attention to the opportunities and constraints shaping business in Mpumalanga's emerging regional economy. Note that Mathematical Literacy is not accepted for this degree — a genuine mathematics background is required, reflecting the quantitative rigour of the programme. Graduates are prepared for careers across the private sector, public sector financial management, banking, and entrepreneurship, as well as postgraduate study in business or finance.
