Details

The Bachelor of Architectural Studies at Wits is a three-year degree providing professional architectural training accredited by the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) and validated by the Commonwealth Association of Architects. Students develop skills in architectural design and theory, construction technology, histories and theories of architecture, and structural engineering. The programme culminates in small office practice, preparing graduates for the profession. Most BAS graduates continue to the Master of Architecture (Professional) to register as candidate architects, while others pursue careers in architectural technology, interior design, landscape architecture, or urban studies. Wits's Johannesburg campus immerses students in one of Africa's most architecturally dynamic cities.
