The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at NWU is the primary professional law degree for practising attorneys and advocates in South Africa, offered at the Mahikeng and Potchefstroom campuses. The four-year programme covers all major fields of South African law including constitutional, criminal, contract, property, family, labour, and commercial law, developing graduates with the analytical, argumentative, and ethical competencies required by the legal profession. The South African legal profession plays a central role in upholding the rule of law, access to justice, and constitutional rights — values central to NWU's LLB programme. Graduates qualify for admission as attorneys or advocates and are eligible to register with the Legal Practice Council of South Africa.
