Phlebotomy Learnership Programme Details:

PathCare's Phlebotomy Learnership Programme commences in 2024 and offers theoretical training at PathCare Academy campuses. Practical training is provided at PathCare Laboratories and depots across South Africa. Seats are allocated based on availability, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

Key Competency Requirements:

To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • NSC Grade 12 pass with Life Science/Biology ≥ 50% or HBM ≥ 60%, and Mathematics ≥ 40% or Math Literacy ≥ 60%.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Basic understanding of Afrikaans (reading, writing, and comprehension).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Capacity to handle pressure and engage in rigorous study.
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to providing excellent service.
  • Willingness to collect and process blood and body products.
  • Availability for shifts and after-hours work.

Selection Criteria:

The selection process includes:

  1. Screening of applications and academic results.
  2. Shortlisting of candidates for online proficiency tests.
  3. Panel interviews for highest-scoring candidates.
