Details

The Advanced Diploma in Animal Health at the University of South Africa (Unisa) is a postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) designed for graduates who hold a Diploma in Animal Health or an appropriate degree, providing advanced knowledge in epidemiology, veterinary public health, and animal health management. The programme develops students' capacity to address complex animal health challenges, lead disease control programmes, and contribute to veterinary public health in South Africa's livestock, wildlife, and food production sectors. Admission requires a Diploma in Animal Health or appropriate degree with strong performance in the major field, making this a selective advanced programme for experienced animal health practitioners. This is not an undergraduate entry-level qualification.

Admission requirements: A Diploma in Animal Health (or equivalent), or an appropriate degree with evidence of Epidemiology and Veterinary Public Health passed with an average of 60% or more in the major field in the final year. This qualification requires a prior higher education qualification — it is not open to NSC applicants.
