The BEd in Senior Phase and FET Teaching specialising in Economics at UJ qualifies graduates to teach Economics to learners in Grades 7–12. Students develop comprehensive knowledge of macroeconomics, microeconomics, South African economic policy, and development economics alongside the pedagogical skills to make economic concepts relevant and accessible to South African learners. Economics teachers are valued across South Africa's school system, with the subject forming a foundation for further study in commerce, law, and social sciences.
