The Hollywood Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2024 bursary program. The bursary is open to South African citizens who are planning to study at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa.
Why Apply for the Hollywood Foundation Bursary?
The Hollywood Foundation Bursary is a great opportunity for South African citizens who are looking to further their education. The bursary provides financial assistance to help cover the cost of tuition, books, and other expenses. In addition, the bursary provides recipients with the opportunity to network with other professionals in their field and to gain valuable experience through internships and other opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have an average of 65% or higher in their latest results, if they are in Grade 11 or 12, and 65% or higher in each subject required for entry into their chosen degree, if they are already studying at a tertiary institution
- Have an average of 60% or higher in their latest results, if they are studying at a tertiary institution
- Be enrolled in a course that is 12 months or longer
- Be enrolled in a National Certificate, Diploma, Degree, or Postgraduate qualification
- Be studying in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Supply Chain and Logistics, Business Management, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Graphic Design, Media and Communications, or LLB Legal
- Preference will be given to applicants who are already residing in the same location as the institution they are applying to
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:
- Certified copy of ID
- Proof of address
- Letter of acceptance from the institution
- Proforma/estimate invoice from the institution
- Letter of motivation
Application Process
To apply for the bursary, applicants must complete the online application form and upload the required documents. The application deadline is 30 June 2023.
Incomplete applications or applications with incorrect information will be disqualified.
Award Notification
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of August 2023.
Bursary Terms and Conditions
The bursary is for the 2024 academic year only. Subsequent funding for additional academic years will need to be applied and approved when the Bursary applications open for those academic years. The bursary is non-transferable. The bursary recipient is required to maintain a minimum academic average of 65%. The bursary recipient is required to complete their studies within the specified time frame. The bursary recipient is required to participate in all bursary-related activities.
