Applications for the 2023 Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship programme are now open!

The Fellowship Programme focuses on developing entrepreneurship skills among Candidate Fellows. By the end of the program, they are expected to view entrepreneurship as a viable career path and have the ability to develop an idea into a viable opportunity. The curriculum for their entrepreneurial mindset is disseminated via the AGOF Online Campus.

Each candidate in the program is paired with a Personal Development Officer to assist with the transition into a new environment, an Entrepreneurial Leadership Officer to develop their entrepreneurial skills, and an industry mentor to deepen their understanding of entrepreneurial traits and concepts in the working world.

What the fellowship covers

The Fellowship Programme provides full funding for applicants with a combined annual household income of R1 million or less. Needs-based funding is available for those with an income above that threshold, with potential funding communicated at the interview stage.

Fellows receive access to seminars, experiential exercises, workshops, and business incubation. They also have the opportunity to apply for business/venture funding via E Squared, an Allan Gray Orbis Foundation sister entity. Additionally, each Fellow is assigned a Personal Leadership Officer and an industry mentor.

The programme emphasizes responsible thinking and developing an entrepreneurial mindset, while fostering a sense of community among like-minded individuals. Fellows also earn a tertiary qualification and are encouraged to become well-rounded individuals through community-oriented learning.
