2026 Sol Plaatje University Postgraduate Merit Award Bursary

The SPU Postgraduate Merit Award supports academically excellent, full-time Honours, Postgraduate Diploma, or Master’s students who are unemployed and registered at Sol Plaatje University. This merit-based bursary is designed to encourage postgraduate development in research, academia, and innovation.

What the Bursary Covers:

• Tuition fees only (no registration, books, accommodation, or living allowance)
• Award is for one academic year only and cannot be used to pay off existing debt

Conditions of Award:

• Students must contribute to academic activities:
  • 6 hours per week for Honours/Postgrad Diploma students
  • 8 hours per week for Master’s students
• A new application is required each year
• The bursary is for full-time students only
