The Schauenburg Education Trust Bursary is aimed at developing South Africa’s scarce skills talent by funding Black South African students in Electrical Engineering and Commerce disciplines. The bursary supports students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study, with a strong focus on academic merit, financial need, and work-integrated learning. It includes vacation work at Schauenburg Systems and a strong mentorship environment.

Bursary Coverage:

  • 100% of university tuition, registration, and exam fees
  • Accommodation costs equivalent to university residence single room rates
  • Textbook and course material allowance
  • Living allowance
  • Payments are at the discretion of the Trust and disbursed accordingly

Requirements

  • South African citizen with a valid ID number
  • Must be a Black Person as per B-BBEE legislation, with preference given to Black women, youth (under 35), and students with disabilities
  • Currently a full-time 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year student
  • Must be pursuing one of the following degrees:
    • Electrical Engineering (BEng or BSc)
    • Business Management or Business Administration (BCom)
  • Must be studying at one of the specified Gauteng universities:
  • Must have passed all registered courses to date
  • Must be available for 3 weeks of mid-year vacation work at Schauenburg Systems
  • Cannot be receiving any other bursary in the 2025 academic year
