Overview/Details

The PIC External Bursary is available for the 2026 academic year and aims to support unemployed South African youth from financially needy and previously disadvantaged backgrounds. The bursary is strictly for full-time undergraduate studies at South African public institutions in fields related to commerce, law, management, finance, IT, and related disciplines.

 

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen, unemployed, and under the age of 25
  • Must reside in one of these provinces: Mpumalanga, North West, KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Limpopo, or Free State
  • Must be applying for or currently pursuing their first undergraduate qualification
  • Minimum 60% overall average in matric (mid-year results) or most recent tertiary results
  • Must be accepted or registered at a South African public accredited institution
  • Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
  • Required documents include:
    • Certified South African ID
    • Latest academic results
    • Matric certificate (if available)
    • Proof of household income
    • Death certificate (if applicable)
    • Proof of disability (if applicable)
