The Mercedes-Benz South Africa bursary programme supports high-achieving Grade 12 learners and full-time tertiary students, providing financial aid and practical industry exposure at the MBSA manufacturing plant in East London. The bursary covers tuition, accommodation, meals, study materials, and includes paid vacation work opportunities.

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Grade 12 learners:
    • Minimum overall average of 70%
    • Minimum 65% in Mathematics and/or Physical Science (for engineering streams)
  • Tertiary students:
    • Minimum average of 65% based on latest semester results
  • Preference is given to:
    • Applicants from the Eastern Cape
    • Children of MBSA employees
  • Eligible fields of study include:
    • Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Development
    • Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics
    • Metallurgy, Metrology
    • Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering
    • Finance, Accounting, Economics
    • Supply Chain Management, Logistics
    • Human Kinetics and Ergonomics
  • Applicants must not be current employees of the MBSA Group of Companies
