2026 Grassroots Youth Development (GYD) Bursary

Applicants must:

• Be South African citizens
• Be under 29 years old
• Be currently registered or provisionally accepted at a public university, TVET or FET college
• Reside in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality or Sundays River Valley Local Municipality
• Have a combined household income of R350,000 or less per annum

Bursary Covers:

• Registration fees
• Tuition fees
• Prescribed study materials
• Accommodation
• Transport/living allowance stipend
• Mentorship support

Supporting Documents (New Applicants):

• Certified copy of applicant’s ID
• Certified copies of parents’/guardians’ ID
• Matric certificate/statement of results
• Academic record (if already at university or college)
• Proof of income (payslips/affidavit/death certificates)
• Proof of provisional acceptance
• Proof of address (municipal bill, letter from ward councillor, or affidavit)
• Certified SASSA letter (if applicable)
• Parents’ 3-month bank statements

Returning Beneficiaries Must Submit:

• Full academic record
• Updated proof of household income
• Parents’ 3-month bank statements
