Deloitte’s Regulatory and Financial Risk (RFR) bursary programme supports one student from a Historically Disadvantaged Institution (HDI) to complete an Honours or Master’s degree in a relevant field at the University of Pretoria (UP) or University of the Witwatersrand (WITS). The bursary not only covers financial needs but also provides academic support, mentoring, and career exposure through Deloitte’s RFR division—an advisory leader in risk, capital, credit, and valuations services for financial institutions.

Bursary Covers:

  • Full tuition for Honours or Master’s degree
  • Student or equivalent accommodation
  • Prescribed study material
  • Monthly stipend
  • Administrative costs (e.g., registration fees)
  • Additional academic support (e.g., tutoring, training)

Requirements

  • Must currently be studying at one of the following HDIs:
    • University of Fort Hare
    • University of Limpopo
    • University of Venda
    • Walter Sisulu University
    • University of the Western Cape
    • University of Zululand
    • Mangosuthu University of Technology
    • Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University
  • Must be pursuing or have completed a relevant undergraduate or Honours degree
  • Must have applied for postgraduate studies at UP and/or WITS
  • Relevant fields include:
    • Actuarial Science
    • Mathematical Sciences / Statistics
    • (Applied/Financial) Mathematics
    • Quantitative Risk Management
    • (Applied) Statistics
    • Other related quantitative degrees
