Overview/Details

United World Colleges is offering South African learners scholarships and places for 2027 entry. Learners complete their final two years of school at one of 18 United World Colleges schools and colleges worldwide, and graduate with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. The programme is residential and built around service, peace, and intercultural understanding.

Please note that this is a school level scholarship, not a tertiary bursary. It is for learners who are currently in Grade 9, 10, or 11, so it suits families who are planning early. It is also not the University of the Western Cape.

United World Colleges selects on promise and potential, not financial background. Scholarships of up to 100% are awarded on demonstrated financial need. They range from partial scholarships to full scholarships that cover tuition, room and board (including campus meals), books, IB exam fees, and curricular trips. All inclusive scholarships also cover costs such as visa fees, travel to campus, and pocket money. Places are also available for families who can fund the full cost, and those families are equally welcome to apply. Selection and funding are not guaranteed.
