The BSocSc in Geography and Environmental Management at UKZN (Howard College and Pietermaritzburg) integrates human geography, physical geography, and environmental management to prepare graduates to understand and address spatial and environmental challenges in South Africa. The three-year programme covers urban and rural development, climate and hazard geography, GIS applications, and environmental policy, equipping graduates to work in planning, conservation, and environmental management. KwaZulu-Natal's diverse geography — from coastal cities to midlands farmland and mountain wilderness — provides an excellent field study context.
