The Myrtle L Aron Bursary Fund supports financially needy students with strong academic performance who are pursuing a degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology. The fund, administered by SASLHA, assists students who have completed at least their second or third year of study and aims to uplift the profession by empowering passionate and dedicated future clinicians.

Requirements

  • South African citizen
  • Successfully completed 2nd and/or 3rd year of study in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Strong academic performance
  • Changing degree after applying will result in cancellation and repayment of funds

Application Requirements:

  • Completed online application form
  • Certified ID document
  • Academic transcripts for all completed years
  • Testimonial from a clinical supervisor or professional (on letterhead) addressing professionalism, skills, and a recommendation
  • Most recent 3 months of personal bank statements
  • Signed affidavit confirming document authenticity
  • 2-minute video answering:
    • Who you are
    • Why you deserve the award
    • How you will contribute to the profession
  • SASLHA membership (non-members must register via SASLHA).
