The Bachelor of Health Sciences in Community and Health Psychology at UJ develops graduates who apply psychological principles to promote health, prevent illness, and support community wellbeing in South African contexts. Students engage with health behaviour change, community-based interventions, mental health promotion, research methodology, and social determinants of health — equipping them to work in public health departments, NGOs, community organisations, and health promotion agencies. Graduates may pursue postgraduate study towards registration as psychologists with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
