The Bachelor of Drama at the University of Pretoria is a three-year degree in the Faculty of Humanities that trains students in the theory and practice of theatre, performance, and drama — covering acting, directing, playwriting, design, and the history and analysis of drama and performance. Students develop performance skills, creative thinking, collaborative practice, and the intellectual frameworks to engage with drama as both art form and social practice in the South African context. The programme prepares graduates for careers in professional theatre, community arts, arts education, and the broader creative industries. Admission requirements: English (Home or First Additional Language): Level 5 (60-69%); Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy: Level 3 (40-49%); APS: 30 (excluding Life Orientation). An audition or portfolio may be required.
