The Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biokinetics at Wits is a three-year degree that trains exercise specialists to use physical exercise as medicine to rehabilitate, manage, and prevent chronic disease and injury. All applicants must write the National Benchmark Tests. Biokinetics is a regulated profession in South Africa governed by the Biokinetics Association of South Africa (BASA), and graduates use clinical exercise testing and exercise prescription to treat conditions including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, orthopaedic injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation. Wits biokinetics students train at world-class clinical facilities, gaining hands-on exposure to diverse patient populations.
