The Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and FET Teaching, majoring in Languages and Life Orientation, at the University of Limpopo prepares graduates to teach language subjects and Life Orientation to learners in Grades 7–12. Students develop expertise in language pedagogy, curriculum design, and the facilitation of personal, social, and career development — the core focus of Life Orientation. UL's location in Limpopo Province gives graduates deep familiarity with multilingual classroom realities and the challenges facing learners in rural schooling contexts, where qualified language teachers are in especially short supply.

Language Teacher (Grades 7–12) – Teaches English, Sepedi, Tshivenda, or Xitsonga at senior and FET phase in public or private schools, registered with SACE and a key contributor to improving South Africa’s language literacy outcomes.
Life Orientation Teacher – Teaches LO across Grades 7–12, covering personal development, civic education, health, and career guidance at schools across Limpopo and beyond.
School Counsellor – Provides learner support, career guidance, and psychosocial intervention in schools, often embedded within the Life Orientation curriculum and support teams.
Curriculum Developer (Languages/LO) – Designs teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessments for language and LO subjects for provincial education departments and educational publishers.
Subject Advisor – Supports and mentors language and LO teachers across a district on behalf of a provincial Department of Education, improving curriculum delivery and learner outcomes.
