The Diploma in Adult and Community Education and Training (Electrical and Mechanical) at TUT prepares educators to deliver electrical and mechanical technology training to adult and out-of-school learners through ABET, community learning centres, and workplace skills programmes. The programme addresses South Africa's urgent need to upgrade the practical technical skills of adult workers and unemployed youth in the electrical and mechanical trades. Graduates develop both trade-specific content knowledge and adult education facilitation competencies, enabling them to work across a range of non-formal learning environments. This qualification supports South Africa's artisan development strategy and expanded public works programmes.
