The Extended Bachelor of Arts in Public Management and Governance at UJ provides an additional foundational year for students who demonstrate potential in public administration and governance but require further academic preparation before entering the mainstream programme. The four-year programme develops the same competencies in government administration, policy analysis, intergovernmental relations, and public sector finance as the mainstream qualification. Graduates are equipped for careers in South Africa's three spheres of government, public entities, and civil society. This route is reserved for first-time entering students.
