The BEd (Senior Phase and FET: Physical Education) at TUT prepares educators to teach Physical Education and Life Sciences to Grade 7 to Grade 12, promoting active lifestyles, health literacy, and sport science knowledge in South Africa's schools. Given South Africa's public health challenges — including obesity, non-communicable disease, and youth inactivity — qualified PE teachers play a critical preventive health and development role in communities. Students develop knowledge of exercise science, sport coaching, movement development, and Life Sciences alongside effective secondary school pedagogy. School-based practicals take place in secondary schools with sport facilities across Gauteng and Limpopo.
